The new owner of Owen Sound Golf and Country Club has been identified as Kinsale Investments Limited. Kinsale’s local representative is Kevin O’Brien, who lives in the Flesherton area.

The court-appointed Receiver, BDO Canada, made the announcement today.

“Kinsale has completed its due diligence and advised the Receiver of its intention to close the transaction,” it states in a news release.

The Receiver anticipates that it will be appearing in court during the week of Oct. 10 to get approval for the sale. The transaction is expected to close during the following week.

The final date of operation for the 2011 season will be determined by Kinsale.

No details about plans for the club were available but BDO Senior Vice-President Bill Courage has stated in the past that all the parties interested in the property planned to continue to operate it as a golf course.
